Benchmark Analytics Engine for Quality Performance Comparison

Built a benchmarking layer comparing provider performance against industry reference levels—with completion-rate, score, and prevalence analysis to identify underperforming indicators and drive PCI improvement actions.

The Challenge

A multi-state aged care group collected quality indicators reliably but lacked structured ways to compare facility performance against industry reference levels. Quality managers spent significant time manually interpreting results, identifying indicators below benchmark thresholds, and preparing executive summaries. Without prevalence analysis and intra-group comparison views, prioritising PCI improvement actions across dozens of facilities was slow and inconsistent.

Our Approach

We engineered a benchmark analytics module connected to the quality indicators platform. The engine compared facility and group performance against configurable industry reference datasets—covering completion-rate benchmarking, score comparison, and prevalence distribution analysis. Dashboards highlighted indicators and facilities below reference levels, with drill-down views for quality managers and executive reporting. Identified gaps fed directly into PCI continuous improvement workflows.

Outcomes

  • Automated provider vs industry reference level comparison across the indicator portfolio
  • Identified underperforming indicators and facilities through prevalence and score analysis
  • Reduced manual effort preparing quarterly benchmarking reviews for executive teams
  • Connected benchmark findings to PCI improvement actions for prioritised quality remediation
